Why Support IASF

Students of Iranian heritage throughout the United States are turning to the Iranian-American community for support. We are pleased to be making a difference in the lives of these amazing students, but clearly, their growing numbers demonstrate the need for increased funding to continue this valuable work.
 Our scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence, financial need, and commitment to community service. Additionally, the funds for the scholarship recipients are transferred directly to the educational institutions of the awardees.
 The IASF Application and Review Committee (Committee) evaluates each eligible applicant on the basis of academic achievement, financial need, community service, essays, and recommendations. The Committee then provides a slate of recommended scholarship recipients and award amounts to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors provides final approval of scholarship recipients and awards.
 To date, we have awarded 410 scholarships to incredibly bright and talented students nationwide. In addition to our regular scholarships, we have awarded a special PhD scholarship, and six writing awards – in collaboration with the Unique Zan Foundation – to young women of Iranian heritage.
 We need your help! Your contribution not only provides students with needed financial assistance, it also provides them with a strong sense of identity, unity, and pride for the community that supports them and believes in their academic goals.
